Delicious White Chocolate Candied Apples

By: Sheila Reynolds

I just love white chocolate covered apples and this white chocolate candied apple recipe is a fun twist on this classic by adding chopped chewy candies to add an interesting texture to this wonderful dessert. These guys also make great dessert presents if you want to surprise your friends or family this holiday season at the next party you are invited to or if you just want to bring a smile to your neighbor.

  • 16 ounces white chocolate chips
  • 2 cups chewy candies, rough chopped
  • Whole apples
  • Skewers

  1. With a paring knife, cut a small hole into the bottom of each apple, slightly smaller than the diameter of the skewer to achieve a tight fit. Push the skewer into the apple. Place the candy pieces on a large plate.
  2. Place the chocolate chips in heat proof bowl. Bring a few inches of water to a simmer in a saucepan and place the bowl on top to create a double boiler. Turn off the heat and whisk the chocolate smooth.
  3. Dip the apple in the white chocolate and then immediately in the candies, rolling it to ensure even coverage. Place the apples on a tray covered in wax paper. Refrigerate for two hours to set.
