Elegant Ricotta Cheese Appetizer

Here is a beautiful ricotta cheese appetizer guaranteed to impress even the most “foodie” of your friends and family. The addition of the edible flower is the piece of creativity that puts this Mediterranan Diet inspired recipe over the edge.


  • Whole grain bread, sliced into rounds
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 tbs. freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, grated
  • 4 tbs. fresh thyme
  • Radishes, sliced
  • Edible flowers, for garnish
  • Olive oil


  1. Preheat your broiler. Arrange the sliced bread on a baking sheet and brush lightly with olive oil. Toast until they’re a pale golden brown.
  2. Combine ricotta cheese, pepper, garlic and thyme in a small bowl. Spread evenly on each piece of toast. Top with radishes and edible flowers. Sprinkle with additional pepper if desired.
