Fried Shrimp with Lime Sauce

This lightly battered Fried Shrimp with Lime Sauce Recipe is delicious and elegant way to serve up shrimp. The Lime sauce is what really hits this recipe out of the park and will be sure hit at your next dinner party.

Fried Shrimp with Lime Sauce


2 lb. large shrimp, peeled, deveined, tail on
½ cup flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ cup milk
1 egg
Salt and pepper, to taste
Oil, for frying

½ cup mayonnaise
1 lime, zested and juiced
Cayenne pepper, to taste


1. Heat oil in a deep, heavy pot to 350. Combine the flour, baking powder, salt and pepper in a bowl. Whisk in milk and egg. Combine the mayo, lime juice and zest, and cayenne pepper in a separate dish and refrigerate.
2. Pat the shrimp dry completely. Dip in the batter and fry until cooked through, about four minutes. Drain on paper towels.
3. Top with lime sauce right before serving.
