Frozen Greek Yogurt Berry Dessert

This frozen Greek yogurt berry dessert is a simple yet delicious way to capitalize on the Greek yogurt craze. They rich Greek yogurt compliments nicely with the berries. The frozen texture adds a whole new level of enjoyment to yogurt.


4 pints blackberries, rinsed
16 ounces vanilla Greek yogurt
1 lemon, juiced
1 cup whole milk
1 cup sugar
Mint, for garnish
Additional yogurt, for garnish


1. Place most of the blackberries in a saucepan, reserving a handful for garnish. Add the sugar and lemon juice, and bring to a low simmer. Mash the blackberries, creating a smooth sauce. Remove from the heat, and reserve some of the sauce for garnish.
2. Blend the yogurt, milk and blackberry sauce in a blender until smooth. Place in a metal bowl and freeze for four to six hours.
3. Place a dollop of fresh yogurt in the bottom of a serving glass. Top with blackberry sauce, and then again with yogurt. Scoop the frozen yogurt on top of this. Serve, garnished with fresh blackberries and mint.
