How to Make the Perfect Poached Eggs

Making the perfect poached eggs does not need to be complicated. Here are some tips to getting this egg classic perfect every time.

How to Make the Perfect Poached Eggs

2 large eggs, fresh

1. Bring water up to a boil in a sauce pan.
2. Crack an egg into a dish and then gently slide into the water, repeating with the second egg. Do this as quickly as possible, or use two dishes. Turn off the heat and use a spoon to gather the whites so that they’re close to the yolks.
3. Immediately remove the pan from the stove and cover. Wait four minutes.
4. Serve garnished with parsley.

Note: You can add one teaspoon of lemon juice or vinegar per cup of water to help the eggs stay together; however, this will alter the flavor. You can cook the eggs longer with the cover on for a firmer yolk.
