Layered Parfait Dessert

This layered parfait dessert recipe is very simple to make but presents really well. It’s all about the garnishing that adds the elegance to this delicious dessert. Enjoy it with a cup of coffee at your next dinner party.


1 lb. strawberries, rinsed and chopped
½ cup sugar
1 lemon, juiced
1 cup walnuts, chopped
16 ounces Greek vanilla yogurt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate shavings


1. Place the strawberries, sugar and lemon juice in a sauce pan. Bring to a low simmer and cook, mashing the strawberries, until thick and smooth. Add a splash of water to thin the mixture if necessary. Let this cool.
2. Sprinkle some chocolate on the bottom of a serving glass. Top with strawberry sauce, nuts, chocolate and yogurt. Repeat this until the glass is full. Finish with a layer of shaved chocolate.
