Pear with Chocolate Sauce Dessert

Pears, chocolate and ice cream are light and decadent, sweet and satisfying. Here’s a simple dessert that looks almost as good as it tastes!

6 pears
1/4 pound semisweet chocolate
¼ pound very dark chocolate
1 cup heavy cream
1 tbs unsalted butter
1 cup slivered almonds
Vanilla ice cream

1. Roast whole pears at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes, turning halfway through, until slightly soft.
2. Heat heavy cream and butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Once smooth, slowly add the chocolate, whisking until silky.
3. Dip the pears in the chocolate sauce and then sprinkle with almonds. Serve alongside high-quality vanilla ice cream. You can also drizzle the chocolate sauce onto the pear.
