Red Pepper Hummus

By: Sheila Reynolds

This amazing Red Pepper Hummus recipe will be a sure winner at your next party. I am always first in line at the chips and salsa table at parties, but after a while chips and salsa can get pretty boring. Naturally, there are lots of chip dips and cheeses that I could go to the store and buy for a little variety.

However, I thought it might be more fun to try to make my own dip for a change. I decided to try the red pepper hummus because I was looking for a dip that had a nice southern spice to it. Red pepper hummus tastes great with chips, pita bread, veggies, and just about anything else you could want to dip into it.

1 can of garbanzo beans
1 tbsp. of olive oil
1 medium red bell pepper
1 tbsp. of tahini
1 fresh lime
1 1/2 tbsp. of water
1/2 tsp. of salt
1/4 tsp. of ground black pepper
1/4 tsp. of garlic powder
