Rice Pudding With Raisins Recipe

Rice Pudding With Raisins is one of those simple comfort food desserts that always hits the spot. The interesting texture is typically a hit with the kids as well. We have added some raisins to this recipe to add some color and texture.

Rice Pudding With Raisins Recipe


2 ½ cups whole milk
1/3 cup short grain rice
1 egg
1/3 cup dark brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
¼ tsp. cinnamon
¼ tsp. ground anise seed
½ cup raisins
1/8 tsp. salt


· Bring the milk, rice and salt to a boil over high heat. Reduce to simmer and let the rice cook, uncovered, for 25 to 30 minutes. Stir every five minutes.
· Whisk the egg and sugar together and then add a ladleful of the rice to the egg to temper it, whisk smooth, and then add to the pot of rice. Cook for about 7 minutes.
· Add the vanilla and spices, top with raisins, and serve warm.
