2 cups cake flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
1 tbs. baking powder
¾ tsp. salt
1 stick butter, cubed
½ cup oil
4 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Buttercream frosting
Red gel-paste food coloring

1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
2. Combine the flours, sugar, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Add in oil, eggs, buttermilk and vanilla extract. Fold in butter cubes.
3. Line cupcake pan with paper liners. Fill the cups about 2/3rds full and bake for 18 to 20 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
4. Remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
5. Color buttercream frosting to the desired pink shade with food coloring. Add half to a pastry bag fitted with a petal tip.
6. Lightly frost the cupcakes with the reserved frosting.
7. Starting in the center of the cupcake, create a small mound in the center. Angle the tip towards the center of the cupcake around the edge of the mound and begin piping the petals, working your way out to the center.
