Traditional Irish Breakfast Recipe

A traditional Irish Breakfast is definitely a hearty way to start your day if you are not afraid of calories. If you want to bring back some Irish vacation memories this recipe will do the trick.

Traditional Irish Breakfast Recipe


Pork sausage links
Pork sausage patties
2 eggs
Sliced mushrooms

2 russet potatoes, shredded
1 egg
¼ cup flour
2 tsps. Seasoned salt
Pepper, to taste
Oil for frying


1. Bring a few inches of water to a simmer in a deep skillet. Steam the sausage links, covered, until fully cooked through.
2. Heat a griddle to medium. Cook the sausage, eggs and mushrooms to taste, seasoning with salt and pepper as desired. Brown the sausage links lightly.
3. Pat the shredded potatoes dry completely and then combine with remaining ingredients. Add additional flour if necessary so that the dough comes together easily. Fry on griddle, turning once, until cooked through and golden brown.
4. Serve the pancakes with the sausage, eggs and sautéed mushrooms.
