Vanilla Honey Deep Fried Bananas

There is just something magical about fried bananas! This vanilla honey deep friend banana dessert is a classy twist on this famous guilty pleasure. It’s hard to go wrong with this dessert and can complement almost any style of meal you have prepared.


4 bananas cut into chunks
1 cup flour
2 tsps. baking soda
½ cup whole milk
¼ cup sugar
¼ tsp. salt

Oil, for frying

2 cups heavy cream
2 tsp. vanilla

1 pint strawberries
¼ cup sugar
Juice of one lemon

Honey-coated nuts, for garnish


1. Fill a large, heavy stockpot half-way with oil. Heat to 350 degrees.
2. Combine the flour, sugar, baking soda and salt in a large bowl, whisking to combine. Add ½ cup of milk, or more, to create a thick batter.
3. Dip the banana chunks in the batter and then fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
4. Heat the heavy cream over medium heat, adding the vanilla. Keep it at a low simmer until thickened and warmed through.
5. Place the strawberries, sugar and lemon juice in a saucepan and heat until the strawberries are broken down, about 15 minutes. Let cool slightly, and then blend smooth.
6. Drizzle the vanilla sauce on the plate and top with the fried bananas. Garnish with nuts and the strawberry sauce.
